Open Ended Question: How will it all end?

Welcome back Free Hawks! Not only to our site, but to this segment! It's been very long since I've done it, so I feel now would be a great time.

Today's open ended question is VERY open ended; How will it all end?!  You've read Blood Red Road, you've read Rebel Heart, and the third installment 'Raging Star' releases next year. What do you think will be the outcome of our favorite story at the end of Raging Star? Leave your comments to this post because I am very curious as to what you think! Be as absolutely crazy and original as possible.

Also, if you have an idea for a scene in one of the books, why not write a short fanfiction story? We're currently holding our first fan fiction contest! Click here to learn more about it! The deadline is July 31st!

I can't wait to see what you guys say. Later, Free Hawks!

Open Ended Question: How did Nero come to be?

Hey Free Hawks! So when I was younger I found a baby bird at the side of the road. It's leg appeared to be broken and the little chirper couldn't fly. I scooped up the bird and brought it home. I wanted to keep the bird as a pet so bad, I fed him sun flower seeds and set a bowl of water for him to drink from. My parents and I both had no idea how to care for a bird, so we went to the local pet store and bought a cage, bird feed, and toys for him to use.

(Attractive bird right? Although this isn't the one I had when I was a child)

I was thinking about this really cool experience early when I started thinking about Blood Red Road- as I normally do. And I started to wonder; How did Saba actually 'domesticate' and some-what 'train' Nero, her crow companion? Did she have a similar experience to mine? Did her and her family find Nero as a baby? Did Nero come swooping down one day while Saba's family was picnicking in the garden and never leave? In a perfect world I imagine Saba's mother finding a baby Nero in her garden and Saba and Lugh nurturing the crow.

So how do you fair Nero entered Saba's life? Leave it in the comments below, I'm very curious to read your thoughts.

Open Ended Question: What should the Blood Red Road fans be called?

So Harry Potter fans are known as 'Muggles', Hunger Games fans 'Tributes', so on and so forth. But what about Blood Red Road fans? We've been calling our lovely group the 'Free Hawks' as it seems fit to me. But what do you think members of this fandom should be called? 'Dustlandians'? Or maybe 'Crows'? Leave your comments to this post and let me know what YOU think we should call you.

Open Ended Question: Are there Holidays in Saba's world?

Hey Free Hawks! It's Monday again which means I have another open ended question for you to read and do whatever you please with.

So today being April Fools Day, ;) I started to think. Are there holidays in Saba's world? We know that they most likely celebrate each others birthdays, but what about the holidays that us Wreckers celebrate now? Christmas? Valentines Day? It does seem rather silly that Saba's family would deal with small things like St. Patrick's Day with the tension in her family. But what about before Saba's mother died? We know that Saba's mother was a ray of sunshine for Saba and her family, so maybe they did still celebrate some holidays we do now?

Leave your replies and let me know what you think. Do you think some of our holidays carried on into the Dustlands?

Happy April 1st everyone!

Open Ended Question: How did the Dustlands come to be?

Let me explain.

One huge question I've had since I read the books was, "How did the Dustlands-Saba's world-come to be?"

dustlands

We know that this story takes place in a time much farther from our own, we're no strangers to post-apocalyptic stories either. But in Saba's story the land has gone dry, completely dry, turning the surface into an almost endless desert, correct?

We also know that we, we as in me and you and everyone that lives in the present day, are referred to as the "Wreckers" in Saba's world.

What did we do that was so bad, that turned our world into the Dustlands? What sort of apocalyptic, straight from a movie catastrophe could have possibly happened that turned the world into what it is here?

Please click leave a reply above and leave your comments telling us what you think could have happened! We'll pick the most intriguing one and make a post about that one! Also, we'll talk to Moira herself and see if we can get an answer out of her. ;) We'll be looking forward to every comment!
